Don't waste your time!!. The evening started out waiting 45 minutes for our table, only to be told,"I forgot you were here".We ordered our meal after a lengthy wait from our server. My seafood bisque was lukewarm very bland. Eventually our entree arrived, the crabcakes looked like they were thrown on the plate and were also very bland. What a big letdown, our experience with "fine dining"will lead us to other restaurants in the Lancaster area!!

Simply One of The Best.. My family arranged a private room for 18 in order to hold a surprise birthday party for my mother. The atmosphere and staff were excellent. I had the lamb as an appetizer, and I had never experienced such a mouth watering delight, it was simply out of this world, I loved it. I also ordered their Shrimp Cocktail, they were large and fresh, and a joy to eat. I loved the little boat like serving tray they served it on, and it is one I also would recommend. My French Onion soup was simply OK, but I have had much better. My house salad was very appetizingly prepared, it was beautiful to look at, fresh and crisp. Hard to believe that something such as a salad, could be made in such a way as to cause excitement, but this one did.

My main course was Filet Mignon, and I ordered a 16oz serving. It was cooked just the way I like it, and it was perhaps one of the best steaks I had ever eaten. At $3.95 an ounce, there were very high expectations, and they met them and more. The vegetables of the day, were uninspiring, and they were pushed to the side of the plate, I few obligatory bites, and they left me unimpressed. My full attention was on that beautiful Filet, which I was unable to finish anyway, and they wrapped it up for me in a cute aluminum foil creature to take home. We all had a fabulous time, not my kind of place for everyday eating, but for a special occasion or treat, it is one I would highly recommend. Simply one of thee best high end dining establishments in York or Lancaster Counties.

Peaceful and Classy. In the tiny square of the little town of East Petersburg lies this fancy restaurant. Pricey but good. Excellent wine selection and daily chef specialties. Could use a little kick in the spice department dishes need a little pizzazz of flavor (we like to taste all ingredients and spices) but classic elegant dining experience. Excellent olive and rosemary bread and great service. Dress nice and enjoy a candle lit dinner. Not open on Sundays and has an upstairs. Make a reservation and specify if you cannot do stairs.

Uninspired. Not at all bad! But uninspired...I expected a much better experience for the price. The food was average and the menu was average. On a high note, the wine list is quite nice.

Tasty steak and another chapter of Lancaster history.. The Scene
Housed in the original site of the Stauffer General Store, circa 1852, Haydn Zug's takes its name from the store's 20th-century owner, a popular local fixture. The Colonial American element is alive in pewter tableware, while candlelit table settings add a quiet--but not stuffy--elegance.

The Food
The menu is traditional American, with steak and Maryland crab recurring throughout. Mushroom caps filled with crab, lobster puree and beefy French onion soup are good starters. Norwegian chicken is a surprising, successful combination of chicken breast, smoked salmon and capers in a rich tomato sauce, while duck breast with Grand Marnier sauce is a classic treat. For dessert, indulge in the bananas Foster with locally made Coleman's ice cream.
