Nice employees, sour customers!

I shop at Jake's all the time and the employees are always nice. I love all the new items they get in daily. Don't let a sour customer from Canada stop you from going there, a lot of companies do not ship to other countries.

Very Rude People at Jakes

I was on vacation in Pennsylvania and decided to buy some curtains. I went to Jakes and found exactly what I was looking for . . . two pairs of swag curtains by Park Design. When I got home I noticed that the curtains were not as full as I like them to be so I decided to purchase a valance to add to them. I live in Canada so I called Jakes to explain my situation and to inquire about their method of shipping. The woman I spoke to was not very friendly (unfortunately, I didn't get her name) and when I asked her if they shipped USPS. (the least costly way of shipping to Canada) I received a very curt "no". I said "I guess we won't be doing business then." She replied "Uh-huh".

I subsequently did a search on the web and found The Country Porch (www.countryporch). I placed a call to them and spoke with a lady named Susan who was very helpful. She sent me a sample to ensure that the colour matched the curtains that I purchased at Jakes. I have since placed an on line order with The Country Porch . . . by the way they ship USPS and are a pleasure to do business with.

The person who wrote this review is not giving all the information. She returned all the items that she purchased in a mess, the first time. Then she purchased others curtains, and also returned them in a mess. She tore all the informational tags off the curtains and stuck them on the curtain bags in a stack. This makes it difficult to put the merchandise back on the floor, in the same condition as she purchased them. She did hang them over Thanksgiving. I think that it is not neccessary to take all the tags off the product, if you are checking to see if you like it. She received a full refund as our return policy states. Personally, we did not want to sell her anything else, because of her disreguard of how she returned the purchases. Not exactly sure what she is talking about, as in doing something that the owner would get in trouble for. There was nothing else to say to her. End of story, she got a full refund.
